Santa Clause Came to Town

Santa came to town in a big way this year.
In fact, he moved in right after Thanksgiving and didn't leave until last night, when we finally dragged our Christmas tree to the end of our driveway.
A whole year until the holidays return, but it's a brand new year.
And while I have much to tell you about my New Years thoughts and the resolutions I will probably break, I must first cover the rest of my adventurous December.

I will pick up from where I left off~ on the train back from New York City, preparing to con everyone I love into participating in sentimental Christmasy activities every day leading up to Christmas.
Well, mission accomplished.
In the days leading up to Christmas, we saw the Washington Chorus perform carols at the Kennedy Center, visited the National Christmas tree, exchanged our annual Christmas ornaments, and made gingerbread houses.
Christmas Eve and Christmas Day were dedicated to squeezing in as much family time as humanly possible.
And judging by my very full heart, I think we did a great job.

On Christmas Eve, the whole gang celebrated like only Robinson's can
with a lot of laughter, a lot of cheese dip (thank God), and very interesting hair adornments.

The next day we opened presents, devoured my mom's famous Christmas breakfast, and went to this year's Christmas day movie, We Bought a Zoo.

My family also started a new Christmas dinner tradition of making our own, delicious pizzas,
and it was a fabulous way to wrap up our holiday festivities (even those I pressured them into) ~
Just us, around our dinner table, happy.
Merry (two weeks after) Christmas, everyone!
